Are the arcade machines free to play?
How many people can play at once?
Most arcade machines take 2 players; games like Giant Human Foosball take whole teams, and Batak and Beat the Bleep run brilliant head-to-head tournaments. Every product page lists player numbers.
What games are on the retro arcade machines?
Our 8000-in-1 retro machines include the classics — Pac-Man, Street Fighter, Space Invaders, Mario and thousands more, curated for multiplayer fun. Ask us for a full games list.
Are the games suitable for children?
Very much so — everything we supply is family-friendly. For younger kids we recommend games like Hook a Duck, soft play, skittles and our giant garden games. (Minimum ages for specific games: TBC)
Are your games suitable for guests with accessibility needs?
Many are — several games can be played seated or at adjustable heights, and our team will happily set up with accessibility in mind. Tell us your needs when booking and we’ll recommend the right games.
Do you supply all the accessories — balls, pucks, paddles?
Yes, everything’s included, with spares. Losing a ping-pong ball or two is part of every good party — we plan for it.
Do you provide staff to run the games?
Most games don’t need staffing — we set up, test and demo, and they run themselves. Some games (and every branded activation) come with or can add a trained event host. Ask when booking. (Which games include staff as standard: TBC)
What are your most popular games?

How much does it cost to hire a game?
It depends on the game, your location and the length of the hire. Enquire with your date and venue and we’ll give you a complete quote — delivery, setup and collection included, no surprises.
Are there any hidden costs?
No. The price we quote includes the game, delivery, setup and collection. The only time a quote changes is if the equipment, venue, distance or event length changes after we’ve quoted.
Do you offer discounts for hiring multiple games?
Yes — the more you hire, the better the value. Package deals for arcade corners, wedding games bundles and full fun-fair setups are our speciality. Ask for a package quote.
Is delivery included in the price?
Delivery within our standard area is included in your quote. Longer distances carry a travel charge, which we’ll always show clearly in the quote — never as a surprise on the day. (Standard delivery area: TBC)
Booking & Payment
How do I book a game with Gamehire?
Browse our games, hit the enquiry button on anything you like (or call us), and tell us your date, venue and event type. We’ll confirm availability and send you a quote. Once you’re happy, a deposit secures your date and equipment — the balance is due before the event. (Deposit and balance terms: TBC)
How far in advance should I book?
The earlier the better — popular games and dates (especially November–December corporate season, communion season and summer weekends) book out weeks ahead. That said, we’re known for handling last-minute requests when we can, so it’s always worth a call.
Do you require a deposit?
Yes — a booking deposit secures your date and the specific games you’ve chosen. (Amount, refund and reschedule policy: TBC)
What happens if I need to cancel or reschedule?

Can I hire games for more than one day?
Yes — many of our games work brilliantly for multi-day exhibitions, conferences and venue residencies. Longer hires are priced differently to one-night events, so ask us for a multi-day quote. (Long-term hire terms: TBC)
Delivery, Setup & Collection
Where do you deliver?
We’re based in Dublin and deliver nationwide across Ireland. Distance affects the delivery charge, so tell us your venue when you enquire and we’ll include it in the quote. (Coverage details: TBC)
Do you set the games up for us?
Yes — we deliver, position, set up, test and demo every game before your event starts, and we collect when it’s over. You don’t lift a finger.
How long does setup take?
Most games are ready in 15–30 minutes each; larger inflatables and multi-game setups take longer. We arrive with enough lead time to be fully set up and tested before your guests arrive. (Typical arrival window: TBC)
Can you deliver to my home?
Absolutely — home birthday parties, communions and garden parties are a huge part of what we do. Just make sure there’s reasonable access (doorways, side gates) and space for the game. If you’re unsure, send us a photo and we’ll tell you straight away.
My venue is upstairs or has no lift — is that a problem?
Usually not, but tell us in advance. Some machines are heavy, so stairs may need an extra crew member or affect which games we recommend.
When do you collect the games?
Normally when your event finishes. For late-night events we can often collect the next morning by arrangement with the venue, at no extra cost. (Policy: TBC)
Is there a cut-off time for collection?
No — we work around your event. Midnight or 2am finishes are fine as long as we know in advance.
Can I collect the game myself?
Our games are delivered and installed by our own team — it protects the equipment and means everything is tested and insured properly on site. (Dry-hire exceptions: TBC)
Venues & Insurance
Are you insured?
Yes — Gamehire is fully insured with Public Liability Insurance. Venues can request our insurance cert and we’ll send it directly. (Cover amount: TBC)
My venue is asking for insurance certs and PAT tests — can you provide them?
Yes, this is completely standard. We supply Public Liability Insurance certificates, PAT test certs for electrical equipment, and risk assessments on request. Let us know what your venue needs and we’ll send it before the event.
Do you provide risk assessments and method statements?
Yes — available for every game, covering delivery, installation and use. Corporate venues and hotels ask for these regularly and we have them ready to go. (TBC)
Can you liaise directly with my venue?
Gladly. If it’s easier, we’ll contact the venue ourselves to sort access, setup location, power and timings — we work in Irish hotels and venues every week and speak their language.
Where will you set up the games at my venue?
Wherever works best. Most hotels have a standard spot for games; if not, we’ll find the best position for flow, power and visibility on the day. If you have a plan in mind, we’ll follow it.
Do the games need a power supply?
Electronic games (arcade machines, Batak, dance machines, photo booths) need a standard 13-amp socket — we bring all cables and extensions. Giant garden games and most carnival games need no power at all. Each game’s page lists what it needs.
How much space do I need?
It varies by game — each product page lists the footprint. As a rough guide, most arcade machines need about 1m × 1m plus playing room, and inflatables need considerably more, plus height clearance. Send us your room dimensions and we’ll tell you exactly what fits.
On the Day & Support
What if a game breaks down during my event?
Every game is tested after its previous event, before loading, and again at your setup — breakdowns are rare. If anything does act up, call our on-call line and we’ll talk you through the fix or get someone out. (Support line and hours: TBC)
How early do you arrive before the event?
Early enough that everything is set up, tested and demoed before your guests walk in — typically TBC hours before your start time, coordinated with the venue.
Will you show us how the games work?
Yes — we demo every game at setup and leave simple instructions. Most games need zero explanation; that’s rather the point.
Can we keep the games overnight?
Often yes, by arrangement — especially if next-morning collection suits the venue. There’s no extra charge when it’s at our convenience; multi-day hire is priced as such. (TBC)
Do you supply sound systems or DJ equipment too?
Yes — through our sister company Soundworks we supply PA systems, AV, lighting and full event production. One supplier, one delivery, one invoice for games and sound.

Weather & Outdoor
What happens if it rains?
Plan A: many of our most popular games are indoor-friendly, and most outdoor games can move inside if your venue has room. Plan B: talk to us in the week before your event — if the forecast is bad we’ll help you swap to indoor-suitable games where availability allows. Electronic games can’t operate uncovered in rain. Can inflatables be used in windy weather?
Outdoor inflatables have a wind-speed safety limit and we follow it strictly — it’s an insurance and safety requirement, not caution for its own sake. If winds are forecast above the limit, we’ll work with you on alternatives. (Wind limit figure: TBC)
Which games work outdoors?
Giant garden games, skittles, corn hole, most inflatables and many carnival games are made for outdoors. Check the Indoor/Outdoor setting listed on each game’s page — you can also filter the games list by it.
Corporate, Branding & Exhibitions
Can the games be branded with our company logo?
Yes — this is one of our specialities. Depending on the game we offer vinyl wraps, printed panels, branded play surfaces, digital screen artwork and branded prizes. Look for the Branding options on each game’s page, or ask us which games suit your campaign.
How long does branding take to produce?
Allow TBC working days from artwork approval for wraps and printed panels. Digital screen artwork can be turned around faster. Send your artwork early — especially for exhibition season.
What artwork do you need from us for branding?
Print-ready files (typically high-res PDF or vector) to our template for the specific game. We’ll send you the spec sheet and dimensions once you book, and we can review artwork before printing. (Exact specs: TBC)
Can your games capture leads at our exhibition stand?
Yes — several of our games are built for it. Options include digital data capture, leaderboards (great for prize-driven competitions that keep people at your stand) and manual entry mechanics. Which games work best on an exhibition stand?
Compact, high-energy games with queues: Batak Pro, Crack the Safe, The Vault, Plinko, Digital Test Your Strength and branded arcade machines. Tell us your stand size and we’ll recommend a setup that fits with room for a queue.
Do you work with event agencies and stand builders?

Absolutely — branded games are one of the most effective footfall and dwell-time tools at launches and activations. We’ll match the game to your brand, add lead capture, and supply staff to host it if you want.
Do you do team-building packages?
Yes — multi-game tournament setups with leaderboards work brilliantly for team days. Batak leagues, giant games tournaments and arcade competitions are all popular. Ask us for a team-building package quote.
Weddings
When do games usually run at a wedding?
Two sweet spots: during the drinks reception (while photos are happening) and after the meal and speeches into the evening. We’ll time delivery and setup around your venue’s schedule so nothing interrupts the day.
Will the games fit in with our wedding venue?
We work in hotels and wedding venues across Ireland every week and coordinate directly with your coordinator on timing, space and power. The games arrive, appear, and your guests just find them ready.
What are the most popular wedding games?
Magic Selfie Mirror, giant garden games (Jenga, Connect Four), retro arcade machines, air hockey and the dance machine. A games corner gives non-dancers something to love and keeps kids happy during speeches.
Kids & Parties
Do you do games for communions and confirmations?
Yes — communion parties are one of our busiest seasons. Soft play, Hook a Duck, dance machine, skittles and garden games are the favourites. Book early for May–June weekends.
Do the kids need supervision while using the games?

Can I hire games for a garden party at home?
Definitely. Garden games, inflatables and most carnival games are perfect for gardens. For inflatables we need level ground and enough space (each product page lists dimensions), and outdoor electronics need cover — see our weather FAQs.
